The Sweet Confusion

"Such a night, it's such a night. Sweet confusion under the moonlight".

The original sweet confusion can be found in the lyrics of the Dr John song, Such a Night. It's also been a song title for several unfinished or unused songs by the band The Lazybirds. When the band ceased to be, ex-lazybirds vocalist Andy Norris, bass player Andy Goodridge and drummer Shawn Mayall continued writing, recording and performing together, but after several months of honing their new sound it became evident that the trio just didn't have enough hands to bring their new musicial offering to life on stage. A return to good old fashioned rock and roll required some new blood.

In the autumn of 2007 Adam Sefton joined on bass guitar to complete the line up with Andy Norris continuing on vocal duties but with the addition of an electric guitar this time round; Andy Goodridge switching from four strings to six strings; and Shawn Mayall doing what he does best.

The Sweet Confusion was born.

In January 2008 the band found a home just off Tottenham Court Road, London, where they spend their time rehearsing, drinking nice hot cups of tea and making trips to the Northumberland Arms. In September, after writing, rehearsing and gigging for most of the year, the band entered Toerag Studios in Hackney to record their debut eponymous titled album along with 3 singles, Dead Man's Shoes, Your Kiss and Built to Last.

"Beautifully crafted songs that rarely trouble the 3 minute barrier.
They used to call it Rock and Roll".
